A Post Card

Hi!  You'd have been swallowed up in the market we visited in Kumasi---the largest outdoor market in West Africa---here in Ghana.  It's been a week of seeing friends.  My host and hostess work for USAID and the Department of Commerce, respectively.  There is a wonderful friendliness and gentleness of the people. And I have loved the shopping!  I've also seen Ghanaian drummers (the country is famous for them) and dancers, and seen a Ghanaian movie about a drug ring busted!  My hostess is a fabulous cook, and is writing a book on African and Diasporan Vegetarian cooking.  Love, Anne
